Melbourne based guitarist and songwriter Ben J. Carter (Cold Irons Bound) has been playing his unique brand of acoustic slide guitar country blues and folk around Melbourne for the last three years, and has also featured at the Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival for the last two years.

Ben’s reinterpretation of old time country blues aims to pay tribute to iconic bluesmen of a bygone era such as Skip James and Robert Johnson, as well as providing a swag of original folk songs influenced by the likes of Nick Drake, James Taylor and Kelly Joe Phelps.

Ben's debut album 'These Winters they howl' is set for release on August 25th 2017. Recorded at Tender Trap studios and mixed at 400 Acres in Melbourne, the album conveys Ben's fine finger picking guitar with songs of loss, regret and new beginnings sung with well tempered harmonies.

It's a melodic journey through 70's Americana, Folk and Blues with gleaming string sections adding a hint of country twang.

'These Winters they howl' Out 25.08.17 CD & Digital.

With a voice like honey poured over a thunder, a howling beat up old Gretsch guitar and thumping animalistic drums, JP & The Troubled Waters mix their unique brew of dark Australiana and roaring swamp blues perfectly. After releasing their Debut EP – 'Delta Veins' in December and following it up with an interstate tour, the momentum and force this Melbourne duos' train is growing stronger and proving to be unstoppable.
